Hello there, I’m Samarth Chauhan, an Audit Manager at QX Accounting Services. Since my college days, I have been passionate about numbers and audits, and it has brought me a long way. I started my journey at QX with the intention of nurturing my love for auditing and it has now taken me overseas. I’m currently based in Croydon, UK, as an onshore audit expert.
I get this question several times. Working onshore with DSK Partners LLP has been a highlight of my professional journey. The flexibility here is amazing—it lets me balance work and family life perfectly, especially with a little one at home.
My day kicks off at 6:30 a.m. with a quick 30-minute workout to get the energy flowing. I typically arrive at the office around 9 a.m., work through the day, and conclude my tasks by 6 p.m., leaving plenty of time for an early dinner and some quality family time. It’s the ideal mix of work and life balance!
Being onshore isn’t just about office work—it’s all about connecting with your team in person and building meaningful relationships. There’s so much to learn beyond the desk.
At a NatWest event with partners, I got to meet senior professionals from diverse industries, and the conversations were eye-opening. Oh, and did I mention attending the ICC World Test Championship Final between India and Australia at The Oval? That was definitely a bonus!
Plus, DSK organises various events where I’ve been able to dive into leadership training and developmental sessions. These experiences—both cultural and professional—have broadened my perspective and helped me grow in so many ways.
Visiting clients in person makes all the difference. It gives them a real understanding of the constraints we face and helps build trust. When you’re face-to-face, clients tend to be more supportive and open, which makes the audit process smoother and more engaging. Getting to know how they work and adapting your approach to suit their processes can transform the entire experience. Audits don’t have to be boring—they’re an opportunity to connect and collaborate!
My time with QX has been an exciting adventure. Moving to a new country is always a big step, and this time, with a kid in tow, we had some nerves. But the transition couldn’t have been smoother, thanks to the amazing support from the team.
Living and working in the UK has opened so many opportunities for us to explore and absorb the culture. And watching my daughter pick up the language and even the accent—it’s both hilarious and heartwarming! We’re loving every bit of this experience!
