Compliance notes for accountants
Holiday entitlement for regular hours is 5.6 weeks per year. For irregular or part year workers, entitlement may accrue at 12.07 percent of hours worked in the pay period.
Holiday pay must reflect normal remuneration. Regular overtime and allowances should be included in the average pay rate using a pay reference period up to 52 paid weeks, skipping weeks with no pay.
Rolled up holiday pay can be used for irregular hours if shown separately on the payslip and calculated at 12.07 percent, but workers must still be able to take leave.
